On June 19, 1865, Union Major General Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3 in Galveston, Texas, announcing that all enslaved people were free, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021. This hoodie carries the Freedom Day badge: a star rising over the water above Galveston, Texas, June 19, 1865.
